Just finished a marathon road trip from Cols,Oh to Carrollton,Ky and back to meet with the town board for a vote on some issues with the Rumble.
The trip started with a call (Weds) from "down south" saying that if I could arrange it, I might want to attend this meeting.
Was told previously by the board not to.
One of the things they were asking about was Ken Warby, and that if I could bring any articles about him, it might help our cause.
Being the "Instigator" that I am????
I took "KEN WARBY" :D
Lets just say that it worked!!!
Ken even drove his mega tow pig Ford Power Stroke 4 door dualie truck with "Warby Motor Sports" on the side and parked it in front of the town office!
Again I have to say :D
I asked them for several things and had a speach all worked out and everything.
I must have bored them because about 5 mins into it, the president of the council said, OK, I think we're ready to vote.
I thought, oh ****!
It was UNANIMOUS!! They gave me everything I asked for!!
This town is estatic!!
Two of three hotels are booked!!
Thanks for your help there guys!
Anyhow, heres what is confirmed.
We will have security at the park over night so we can leave rigs there.
We will have a large enough tent to have Kens Boat and all of us in for "Party Central".
We will be having shirts and hats made.
We will also have a shuttle service running between the hotel/motels and the park Saturday and Sunday.
At the meeting today they (Carrollton) had three local newspaper reporters and photographers there!!
You think these guys are geeked??
Will post more specifics tomorrow, but I'm pooped, and we're going over to LaserModVee's to celebrate!!
My thanks To Ken Warby, This guy is incredible!! With two days adavnce notice, he drops what he's doing and drives me to Ky!!
Thank You Ken!!
And to "SpeedRacer" (Tony Wilson), Thank You for not only suggesting this wonderfull location, but also for beeing my eyes and ears down there.
THANX GUYS!!
Gator, OUT!

Instigator has created a monster beyond his wildest dreams!!!!!

We tipped back a couple of cold ones in celebration of todays success at the meeting today.

Ken Warby is the man.

I wish you guys could see how hard Instigator is working on this year's Rumble. His voice is about entirely gone from talking so much right now.

I know he's beat down, he called it "a night" at 10:30 PM.

Defintely not Instigator's normal style.

This years Rumble is going to kick ass, but let's be sure to give Instigator a pat on the back in August for putting this thing together. He and Ms. Instigator have worked like crazy to pull this off.

Hey Instigator...

Great news! Terrific job to you and Ken!

We've got everybody pumped on this end... Did you ever hear back from Rick?

Oh no! Forgot about the hotel! hope they've got some rooms left in Carrolton...

We are bringing both our boys - ages 5 and 8. So we were wondering if there will be any teen aged kids who might like to babysit while we party Friday and Sat? It's my birthday on Friday... so for sure I'm gonna wanna celebrate that day ;)

Can't wait!

Gator,

I was at Dan Agnew's shop yesterday and we were talking about how much work this thing must be and the fact that you are doing most of it just for the love of boating. You da Man. In fact you may be my new hero (next to Dan, of course):D .

Hey Instigator ~

I was wondering if you could put in the schedule time & location for the "GROUP SHOT", you know, the big spread like they do at all the magazines -- one massive group --- with all the boats in the picture, tied together or something. Those are always way cool! If it's good maybe we'll get a 2-page spread!

To make sure we include everyone, I'll need something tall to stand up on -- platform, building, etc. Is there anything like that at the site? Anybody got ideas?

Danny, yep, lots O work! But well worth it!!! Looking forward to meeting with and partying with all you lunatics!!
Sounds like some of you guys in S.C. are a bit uh ------- shall we say, "Fun Loving"
Spent all of last years event on the run.
Think I have enough help this year to be able to hang/drink/party/bar hop/BS with all you nuts!!!
Gerben, last I heard there was still some available. If not, LaserModVee resverved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn too.
I'll keep you posted on that.
Gerben, let me know what I can do on my end if you're serious about coming. Be glad to do what ever I can on my end.
Thanx again to you Danny and all your crew!!
Make sure and bring the hang over medicine for the morning(s) afterb:D

Ya got times for the races posted on your Rumble site pick a Time for the group shot and post it on your site.
Maybe ya should pick a time for a group shot of everyone standing in the park.
And a time for all the boats rafted together for a shot.
Just a good idea!?!
K.K.

I just happen to have a cessna 182 ' IF your are not afraid to fly you can get some good shot' s of the group rafted togather from however hi or low you want' the plane is apox 1 mile from the rumble site so no big deal , ps dont worry about the plane' I put a OMC motor in it last year. Later.

Speedracer! Wouldn't that be awesome!?!

What a cool shot ~ & we'd definitely get a choice spread for that one!

No, I'm not afraid at all :) :D Once I rode in a Cessna up the Colorado River during the Parker Enduro, and we followed the leader -- Jimbo McConnell -- all the way to the south turn. That was one of the coolest memories I have.....

And it is so cool of you to offer this service for the Rumble. You will most certainly be mentioned in the article too! Thank you!

Looks like we are going to need it to clear the river at the end of the day.

Instigator and Ken Warby, way to go! The town board had to yield to your cogent reasoning...

speedracer, way to go. just a shame your rig won't have you in it in the picture.

BK, does this mean HB will have to fly Al out to do an article on outboards at the Rumble?

Sure would be nice if the guestbook has a list of who did what so we can thank everyone's efforts.

Instigator, I wonder if you post a list of needs, wants and wishes, if that would help others lighten the load. I know even forming and posting a list would be some work, but might help overall....just a thought. Might not work if you have to help in some way.

Gerben would definitely get the longest ride award! Or would that be the LONGEST TOW? You bringing the boat? haha You'd be making it multi-national! Well, along with Yammer and his friends.

Let's see, a well organized event, place to meet those on the S&F board, security, transportation to/from hotels..., big tent, t-shirts and hats (where do I put my order in?) and a coordinator who jumps on any issues that come up? We are very fortunate. Instigator you ought to feel proud, very proud. We'll be looking forward to your comments when you get back from your trip.

delawarerick, copy this thread and send it to corporate and you might get what you are asking.

What an event of events, no one will be able to do it all.

I'm already having fun.
