Just a thought about the 280. My tps voltage was off and caused poor idle. I also only had 40 hours on the motors when I was introduced to the problem of side pinned pistons. If you don't have the top pinned pistons, check compression and get the pistons changed. I had to replate two blocks with 40 hours on them.

i dont think it has gotten that serious yet. i hope not anyways.i have already hooked up ddt and adjusted tps cleared history and adjusted butterfly and throttle cable and shift cable.my history showed 25 faults on the tps,2 misfires on cyl 3 4 misfires on cyl5 an 1 misfire on cyl 1and 2 faults on the trigger.i figured the misfire and trigger came into play when my plugs fouled out.dealership had tps set at .79 i set it back to.82 and got about 2hrs since i cleared history and no more faults have came back.i have checked compression and all cyl have about a 1 to 2 psi difference . i bought my leakdown tester about a month ago and have not had time to get my boat to my air source back at the shop.

To check reeds hold plate up to sunlight if you can see light through them they are not sealing and can be the cause of a rough idle. The TPI can cause the simpyoms too. Needs to be set on .80 with a .005" feelrt gauge inbetween the butterfly and the bore !

Good luck !
