I have read that solid motor mounts will improve the way a boat handles and also will gain top speed . I agree with the handle but am not sure about the speed. The article says that speed is gained because the motor is not wasting power with the side to side motion and is using it's power to push the boat forward only.Has anyone clocked a before and after mount change speed and time ?

dont do anything other than allow you to have more control - if you're having bad handling problems they may allow you to drive the boat faster.

I was having a horrilbe time controlling my boat above 60, it liked to chime walk really bad. I have regular stock rubber motor mounts. I intalled a torque tab just to see what it would do. Before the tab the boat would run 70 but not for long it got pretty hairy, after torque tab I can hold it at 70 and it is stable as can be. The best 12 bucks I ever spent.
