Dell 8200? Mine has liquid damage... No, not beer either. I am a strong opponent of alcohol abuse. Wasting it by pouring or spilling is strictly forbidden by my religion...LOL!!! :D

My freaking "L" is the only key that doesn't work.....:(

been lookin at the "southern gals" thread too much again, huh? :D

i have replaced them on toshiba laptops without much problem. just dont break the clips when you take it apart, if you do you'll be needing 5200 to put it back together.

Ebay is the way... Ive seen brand new dell laptops with bad cpus go for $40 shipped. that also gives you an extra screen (in case "liquid" ruins that too) and a laptop to practice taking apart without screwing up your good one.

OK, I might just send it off again... and copy and pasting the "L"s sucks.... I do most of my posts in word so it will add them...

Thanks guys

I don't mess with laptops much, but I suppose you can't pop off a key and squirt some cleaner in there or something?

Oops I forgot, here take these: LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll lllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Sorry...was too easy...:)

call dell and tell em its a defect, probably get a new one free, we do it all the time for our customers, but that is with brands like hp/ibm/fujitsu-siemens and not dell.

I'm on my free keyboard nr 3 on this ibm t40 ;)

Thanks Sho. If I need any "L"s, I now know where to get them. :D

BTW I think I found some one that can fix it. :)
