XS 200 Battery

We are running a XS200 Merc on a offshore race cat in the UK. Got to save a bit of weight with the boat, one of the potential areas to save is with battery weight.

We have been told to run a min of 100 amp hour battery.

Anybody got experience of running light weight batteries with the XS?

Any help appreciated

hi we are C1 from italy,
the lowest you can go is a 60 Amp
we had a 50 amp one but we blow it during the 1st race

i've been using a opti start battery from exide and it seams to work well for a 890 cold crank amp. dont know how that compare to the 100 amp but in the states thats usually a 27 series where the opti is 24 size.
