tach problem

Does anyone know why a new Nordskog tach that was working fine a day or two ago would just quit working? I checked all the wiring and the power source and everything looked fine. Could the rectifier be the problem?

i have gaffir guage, never thought it would have just gone bad, last few times out, it would go on and off , like a wire was loose, put new recitfier on, and still didnt wok, took a buddys tach, and hooked his to mine, and mine to his, mine was bad, his worked
