octane question

My question concerns the octane requirements for my 3cyl omc with compression raised from 110psi to 130psi. Would 87/89 octane be ok or would 90 plus be the way to go? Rpm would be in the 6000 range. Thanks

My advice to you would be to never run anything but premium fuel in any outboard.The price of a few more cents per gallon is much less than new pistons and rings and gaskets and labor etc. etc. etc.

Buddy, Terry is probably right ... a few cents isn't going to kill you
