66,1100ss,DOA.will 78 90hp fit?

HI Guys. Some POS guy sold me a runner! Owned it 17 years,His baby.
well its my pos now......through a rod through the case.....so any way i need a replacement pwr head. I have axcess to 2 pwr plants....an abused 115 and a 78#5034388 90hp..question is will either fit? the 90hp has no parts except the engine...no carbs-eletric's etc.
Any 1 know these engines well enough to help me?

The bolt pattern on the inlines changed in 72/73 depending on model and won't interchange prior to that.

thanks raceman. I figured I didnt have the easy way.......lol
so i can use any? 950/100/110/115 pre 72 red stripe an before. How about the 4cyl 800-850? same vintage.

Correct. Also 125 and 135. Be careful on 4 cylinder 85's they might have later mid with the slightly different pattern

There may be some base gasket/water inlet mis matches among the 6's that may require using the donor's base pan or something ... keep an eye on the details
