I have been getting all my settings where they need to be on my fresh rebuilt 1995 EFI PRO-MAX so I can take it to the lake, but when I run it on the hose it idles pretty good but around 2,200 rpm it is eaither slightly missing or is fat like it won't clean up until it starts to get close to 3,000 rpm then it seems to clean up when you blip the throttle. I have missed with the TPI setting and dosn't seem to help at that rpm. My timming is 25* max and 5* at idile, the plugs and piston tops are both a little wet with fuel, my spark is strong on all cylinders when I checked it with a spark strenght indicator (whatever that thing is called). My fuel pressure is 39psi at idle. It seems like it may have a little much fuel/oil comming out the exhaust because it leaves a good oil slick on my driveway stones after running for 5 min. or so. REPAIR recurved the ECU according to the motor specs I gave them. Is it possible that it has a good amount of fuel still in crank from over primming or somthing and it just needs some run time to clean up? I would think if that was the case it would idle worse then what it does and want to spit and spudder at idle more? ANY THOUGHTS OR ADVISE ON WHAT TO LOOK FOR NEXT? THANKS

The motor will act much differently on the hose than it will in water.
exhaust back pressure and an in gear idle will change things a lot.

Thanks Tony, One more question for you, would you run somthing other than the BU8H plugs that MERC says? It is a digital EFI box so it dosn't make since with the none resistor plugs. Also your reccomendation on TPI voltage would be helpfull. (1995 LASER EFI DIGITAL ECU) THANKS!

tps is very sensitive to running
from the manual"
dissconnect TAN/BLACK leads from head temperature
turn key to the on position
adjust TPS to a reading off .240to .260 volts
if to rich or to lean
adjust for leaner decreasing voltage
for richer increase voltage
disconnect control cable and fully open throttle plates
voltage should be 7.46 volts

i hope you have the plugin cable for adjusting TPS
