I have a 85 2.4 merc, how do i know if its a large hub or smal hub? Thanks.

Don't quite understand the question, do you mean large propshaft or small??

If you are running the 200 gear case, it will be the small shaft, if I understand the question.

I guess its the prop shaft, i went to a marina to see if the had any used props and they asked me if my motor was a large hub or small and i have no idea.

Now that could also be the small dia. gearcase, but if yours is all original 200, then it would be the large dia gearcase, with the small dia propshaft, (compared to the sportmaster big SHAFT), am I right guys......chime in now if I am not understanding his question.

It is original, can i measure the shaft or is there a way to no from serial numbers, thanks for the help.

not bonehead?, I went thru the same thing, bought what I thought was a large case prop, fits my small dia. case, 87 2.4, the difference is the back of the case where the propshaft is, small hubs are 4 1/4 dia. and large are 4 3/4" dia.( I think) what kind of prop are u looking for? Daytrader, also I would think that propshaft is the small one
