I have recently purchased a '87 Vegas (my second 'Stream) that had 'new' steering cables installed by the previous owner. These cables come out the same place as engine controls, fuel line, oil line, battery cables...just to the starboard side of the splash-well. My other 'Stream had the cables exiting the hull further forward on the angle between the gunnell(?) and the splash-well. The current location makes for an extreme bend in the cable. Which is the proper location? If I change the location where can I get a nice peice to cover where the cable extrudes from the hull? My old one was a chrome piece that was covered about halfway that allowed for a nice bend.

Thanks,
Loyd

That's correct for the Vegas. It's the same as my CE Vista, I leave a little slack after it exist the hole and have not had any problem with the radius of the bend. Just make sure that it is relativly streight down the length of the boat and out the hole.

On the home page of hydrostream.org is the same Vegas hull. Note where the streering comes out...I need that fitting.
