Ihave been running 2.4BP on my 21 TALON. My fuel pressure with the BP was 39psi. I recently purchased another 2.4 horn motor and replaced the BP. Now fuel pressure is reading about 32psi. I noticed that the new fuel system has a crossover tube on the fuel rail, the BP did'nt. Is this the cause of the fuel pressure drop? the new engine runs much stronger than the BP. What is the proper pressure, and how much fuel pressure can this engine stand??

Thanks, Mark

It's not how much pressure the motor can stand, It's how much pressure is needed. I believe the regulators vary a bit in pressure. The crossover tube shouldn't change the pressure. Maybe swap the regulators if they are the same. I'm not very familiar with the BP's. My 260 has a 56psi reg. Sometimes it reads right near 60psi sometimes it reads close to 50psi. It may have something to do with conditions like temperature, altitude, atmosphereic pressure. I may be wrong but i don't think there is a problem. Do you have pyros?

39 psi.

The xover tube is to relieve fuel pressure on the rail / injectors after the engine is shut down. Block off the xover and see if the fuel pressure increases. If it does, the tee fitting is the wrong one and need to be replaced.

No, Ido not as yet have pyro. Engine came with Brucato PCU and as tempting as it is, I'm waiting to fine tune until pyros have been rigged. That fuel pressure just seemed a little low.
I,ll check the regulator.

Thanks for the input

How do you check the regulator ?

I had same problem installing my BP, and it was the return fuel line. It must go directly back to your gasoline tank and not through any separate/filter. My reading was around 32 with Bosch fuel pump and 39 after. The engine was also to rich and did not perform any good.
