Flat Out

At Sean's aka Flat Out cottage on Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake is about 2hrs form the GTA. Crystal Lake is about 6 miles long great for non off shore type boats. Big and small bring em all. We've had everything from 10 hp sea-fleas to 25' Eliminator Daytonas. Vintage to fresh out of the mould.
Let me know if you plan to attend. There is no cost. Bring food, drinks, gas, etc.

I had totally planned on this being the debut for the Eagle but now Im not so sure. I've been madly scrambling to get parts sorted but as usual its painting the damn thing thats got me behind. I HATE PAINTING!
The colour I shot on the weekend didn't cover very well(understatement) and subsequently ran all over the place (and I ran out)
I have yet to decide if I will come boatless or just stay home and get more work done. I'll see. I had really been looking forward to this too, grrrrrrrrr
I should hjave just painted the boat one colour, dang fancy paint schemes!
Cheers
(Sean I owe you large for the help with the parts, I'll fill you in when I see you)

Rich, I dont know if I have permision to post this info... I dont want to get anyones hopes up;)
Perhaps if your at the meeting tonight Ill trade u this tidbit of info for a 100+ mph pass:)
STV Dreamer
05-26-2005, 01:20 PM
No problem Pman. Gladly take you for a run, but not sure it will be an exciting 100 mph pass as I only have 30 minutes run time this year and shaking out a few changes. Maybe I'm suffering from "no balls" syndrome....we'll see.
I'll be bringing 3 props if anyone wants to try them out. 30 ET/ 30 Cleaver /32 Cleaver. Would like to try out yamaha drags 24-26 if anyone has those....bring 'em.
Bogman
05-26-2005, 01:48 PM
Geeze Rich thats 3 or 4 posts of yours I've read about early season gitters, I may be able to help, if you want we can trade boats for a while then all you 've got worry about is 80mph ( almost  ) passes :p let me know, just trying to help a buddy out :D
Jeff "Yammer"
05-26-2005, 03:09 PM
If I end up coming I'll bring Yamaha Drag's from 20-28" ......... ( all nicely worked ) ---Maybe !!!! I am weery of letting people "try" stuff though. Not that you wont take good care of em I just would hate for one to chuck a blade on ya ........

Does that mean you'll bring them but nobody can try them, or you won't bring them but everyone can try them? :D
Glenn

I understand peoples hesitation. I always bring my check book and ask how much they want for the prop first. Even then, the guy still has to trust you. Had a chance to try a 4 blade Cleaver and after finding out the cost decided it was not worth the risk. But the offer was there and I apreciate it. Jeff offerd me to try a beautiful 29 SRX years ago and it was the best running prop on my boat so far. PBCC guys always seem to come forward and offer anyways, and I never take it lightly. I have an A5 26 pitch Chopper on my Vision that has always seemed to work well on sub 200 horse boats (and my Vision) and bet it would work well on Fiberton's Vector.

i will bring some props up as well that you guys can try .
airpacker
05-27-2005, 06:10 AM
Well, I could bring a few props with me but I don't think any of you would have much use for a set of 16 x 31 3 blade Black hawk props and I seriously doubt anyone would want to HAVE to buy em anyway. :)
Now, if you want to try out the brass mercury racing prop on my 40 short shaft, thats different. Think about the hole shot with a 12 x 13 :o

I'm extra dissapointed I missed this event after seeing the weather. They can just never predict it right can they!?
How was it guys? Where are the pics?!
On a more upbeat note I did get alot done today. The beast now has a motor, exhaust tips in(they look BADa$$), steering installed. Tomorrow it gets seat tracks and an intake grate and a few more little fabrication things then its all just finishing the $%^#ing paint. Little tip for the curious, deep red paints don't cover for #$^!
Cheers, lets see the pics!

It was good to see Rich's boat running well - we knew it was something simple! Lot's of great boats, and even the weather cooperated. Sean, your new J-Craft is gorgeous! Thanks again for the day!

Thanks to everyone who came to this years Season Opener at my cottage.
I enjoy hosting all of my boating friends. We had great weather despite the forecast. We had a safe and incident free day. Losts of dock talk and rides. We got Fibertron's Stream running real nice.
Lets do it again next year. Hope to see everyone soon.
Safe boating everyone.
Thanks Again
