I have asked for input on the XR2002 and XB2002 . I have no seat time in either model and have always had tunnels.I keep reading other threads and these other guys seem to be having trouble with set up and driving the boat on the pad. I have a few beers on boat day and hate to see the back of other boats in front of me.Should I gor for 2.4 or strap on the big dog and SKIN IT BACK !!!!!!
mr fun

I don't reccomend driving any light weight V-Pad boat wide open after drinking.
Wait till ya get back to the landing to drink or don't let the hammer down or the hammer just might hit you.
This kinda runnin' and drinkin'= bad things happening.

I don't think beer will stop a bat turn it will just ease the pain till you sober up.

Both of the boats you asked about are very fast!! They both require correct set up and SEAT time to learn to drive it, do not expect to be making 80-100 MPH passes for a while if you don't have previous V-Bottom seat time.
Where do you live? Have you looked at both boats and sat in each? They both have different plus's and alot of it depends on your personal taste, one is a Bass Boat and the other is a Lake/River boat. What is your preference?
The Allison Rally is in a few weeks, both boats in question will be represented and most owners are more than willing to talk fast boats plus give rides to folks looking to get into one, we are a very PROUD group of owners and like to brag. The rally is in Tenn June 15,16,17

But after I git done playing. I used to think that a few beers when I was not planning to really string her out was not a bad thing,,,,I soon realized the bad thing was I waz ALWAYS ending up stringin' her out ! There's places and times fer everythang. Some mix, some don't.
One thang fer sure, I've had several types of hulls, and I like these Alli's !

I am guilty of running my cooler I mean boat over 85-90 when I shouldn't have. But in all honesty I believe ANY boat is un-safe over 80 when the captain has had a few to many! Tunnels might be easier to drive without "washing the stickers" when at speed but when you're drunk your sense of "levelness" is off kilter also so I believe its just as easy to stand one up (or worse) if you really push it and have been in the cooler all day. I hate to admit it, but an Alli seems easy to run up too 85 when you are essentially ****faced. It's only over those speeds that you can be looking the other way in a real hurry.
To be honest, on the little stretch of the TN. River that I typically "beachhop" on the drunks don't worry me as much as the sober (or "near" sober) guys who are hellbent on running over 90 without a lifejacket and certainly without a helmet. ALOT of folks who have been f'd up by bat turns would've come through a little better had they been wearing a properly fastened jacket and helmet. I typically have my wife and our 3 small kids with me so I don't push the envelope very much to begin with. BUT I am making a pledge right here and now to carry my helmet in the boat with me EVERY outing this summer! (ESPECIALLY during the 50th next month.) In the 70s as a kid I was drug from coast to coast by my dads entire side of the family who dragged jets. A few times I was privy to ride in the safety/retrieval boats during various events. Even though I was young I can remember fishing several drivers out of wrecks in bad situations. And I am talking about drivers with proper safety equipment and trained professional rescuers. As much fun as it seems, I still am uneasy while standing on the beach with 100 other drunks watching 2 drunks out racing each other as they come by at 90, 100+ and all they have on is a swimsuit and a pair of Oakleys without so much as a single, occupied boat floating nearby to render quick help if need be!
We all know what is safe and un-safe, it's up too each of us to exercise the appropriate safety percautions while on the water. Ok I'll step off the pulpit and let the flames fly! :o

So guys lets at least ALL bring those helmets too the 50th! ??? ;)

And to answer the original question, if you only want a hot**** lake racer with plenty of room go XR2002. If you want a badass lake racer, fishin boat, sundecks for more than 2 women ;) then look at the XB2002. I prefer the XR2002. BUT theres a reason Darris no longer builds the XR and yet continues to sell every XB he can build!!!

I strongly suggest two cases of good ol Bush Beer or boonzefarm and strapping on a really good 300 drag on the back of your allison, the secret is making sure you don't drink too much so that you can tell the difference between your ass chine walking and the boat chine walking..........BBBBWwwwwwaaaaaahhhhhhhaaaa!!!!
