Scott Gilmore was right, there would only be one Allison there, but it wasn't Scott's. I think his name was Greg, but I forget names easily! He is from the Pontiac area. Nice GS.

Scott, did you get too wasted on Friday night to show up?

The 21 Eliminator V Jet belongs to Kent from Chelsea, my boat's previous owner, with his 2 kids on board in the picture.

I liked the colors on this 21(?) footer.

Homemade boat, scary fast, and its 70+ year old owner drives it like it's stolen! Very unique.

Twin turbos. mmmmmm....

On my first romp around the lake with my wife, the Lenawee County Marine Patrol deputy got me on the radar gun at 68 mph from an angle, he said he thinks I was going about 72. It was just a short burst with the 24 pitch prop, I told him my speedo pickup was flipped up so I didn't know how fast I was going. He was nice and let me off with a warning, but he was WAS doing his job at the lake on Saturday. The first photo is me standing by the partrol boat.

A few residents had bitched about the loud boats before they had even finished their morning coffee, so he came out with the decibel meter to see who was legal. He didn't write noise tickets for these big-blockers, but he told them to stay off the lake until they were ready to pull out later. The blown, open-header jet in the second picture got 110 decibels at idle on the tester. Ouch. 89 is legal.

Supposedly, the Jackson County patrol guys are decent and OK with the fast boats as long as people are behaving responsibly.

This Talon 21 belongs to Dave and his son Joe fron ClarkLake. Dave's girlfriend Karen had a fun time hanging out with my wife and tossing back some cocktails. We went for a ride in the Talon, very nice boat. Their Bridgeport is still getting broke in, so we kept it under 6K, still a fun ride.

Thanks to whoever let Karen have some buns for our burgers. Special thanks to Molson and Captain Morgan. Thumbs up to the deputy for not writing me up, THUMBS DOWN to the Lenawee County Sheriff's department for coming down hard on RESPONSIBLE BOATERS who drive from miles away to spend their money here and bring revenue to the park. Lessons learned. Instead of blasting around the lake sober, we got drunker than hell at the state park beach, occasionally going out for a cruise. If they'd rather we did that, fine! We still had fun.

Another shot of the Talon with Dave's son Joe standing on the bow, and a picture of Dave and I going out for a ride.

Pyro, great pics as always. It looks like it would have been a great day either way - on the beach or in the boat. Sorry to hear that the Marine Patrol was out doing such a great job. If they owned their own hi-performance boat, maybe they'd understand these events. At any rate, hopefully many of these boats will be at Hardy Party - Hot Boat Weekend. That's the weekend after Labor Day. Very few problems with the Marine Patrol up there - they don't rule with an iron badge. ;) Hope everyone had a good time and hope to see ya'all at Hardy!

See, that's the thing. Wamplers Lake is in two counties. The Jackson Co. cops are boat owners. They show up and go for rides in the boats, keeping en eye out for drunks and stuff, but they don't mind people driving 100+. The Lenawee guy(s), different story. You never know which one is going to show up.

If I find a good tow vehicle soon, I'll try to make it up to Hardy. Otherwise, you'll see me back at Wamplers in September.

Pyro, Great pics. I think everyone one had a good time. Everybody was friendly, just a great group of people to hang with. It was sure was nice to see some other go fast boats, and we couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise on the lake.

Pyro glad the weather was so nice. Alot of these same boats will be at Houghton Lake june 10th-12th. Yes the boat with the zoomies is LOUD. He reved it up at shore at the Bud Bash and it got the crowd going, way loud, way cool.

More like way loud, way old (s)c(h)ool

Wherever Ed goes, You know the cops will eventually show up too. That helps to put a damper on the boating.
