My wonderful wife just bought me this.....monster.....for my birthday. Strange question....but what the hell do I do with this all terraine mapping software system? This thing was pretty expensive...over 500-600 bucks. I'm not sure I need all this software, but I don't want to hurt her feeling and take it back.

All terrain mapping is for using as a navigational aide. If you were flying or using the GPS as a tool to find your way, then you would use the navigational aides to find your way. It points out terrain icons such as water towers, radio towers and many other large icons that are necessary when flying or trying to find your way.

Is it WAAS enabled? If so, use that as well as it increases the accuracy. The unit I have gets down within a foot by using some special access codes.

Yes, it's WAAS enabled, played with it some as we went off to meet Rusrog over at the North Texas get together at Lake Whitney....even saw Mr. Tray Archer and his side kick Vic.....:D
