View Full Version : Help on outboard set up with jet pump

Some one help cant get it to sit down,the only way to get it to lay down it starts plowing . 200 merc full set of wedges on blazer sport 1856.

You need to give a better description of what you are running and how you have it set up for us to help you.My first guess without any info would be maybe you have the motor too high.Send out some pics of your setup and you'll get all the help you can stand on here.

use a whalestail and make sure the motor is the right height!!!

How far below the bottom is the bullet of the jet? Its sounds like you aren't getting enough thrust to to make the stern drop far enough to get you over the hump and on plane. If the motor is to high the jet will suck air in and reduce its efficiency.Too much negative trim will also make you plow and not plane.

I thought about the whales tail andThe motor is running better than ever . I will trh the tail today if it wont work I am not going to the races saturday.
