I'm finally tired of dealing with the "clips" that hold my topboot to the stainless trim that goes around the top well on my 1968 GTO. One end of the clip inserts into a plastic strip under the boot. The other clips over the stainless trim. Over the years, the clips have lost their tension and, especially around the curve of the stainless, refuse to hold the boot down at all points. Last summer I got so PO'ed, I didn't use the boot which is VERY tacky. The only thing worse is having the top down and windows rolled up.  None of the repro companies make the clips as they were, I think, a one year only idea. I can buy a 1969 GTO repro boot that has some type of plastic "slide" that attaches to the stainless trim. I'm just curious if that system works well. Anyone familiar with?? Raceman??? Maybe your Chevelles use that system???? Thanks.

T.D., if your sick of that thing, you should just get rid of the car. I know someone who would buy it for the right price. J/K Later, Dave

Trip, the only non-Corvette convertibles I own are a 65 GTO and 65 442 Olds. I haven't gotten far enough with either one to come in contact with boot parts.
Man................ I wish the only problem I had to worry about with one of mine was ridin' with the top down and no boot cover. The GTO is closest but probably years away from runnin.

You southern guys don't use the boot AND ya roll up the windows with the top down. :D ;) Thanks anyway. I figured that you might have something in your fleet. How's the yellow 442 coming along??? Last I read, it was almost "there."
