I called yesterday and reserved 3 rooms, for Itchy, Jim, and myself, we need to get a group up with a name to see if we can get a group rate. I will probably be bringing the Mirage and Pontoon boat so Parker---------- Joanne can ride with me :D looks like I will miss RBR this year but I will make up for it at the Suwannee, hopefully I will be in better health than I was at the speed run gathering, that sinus infection damn near killed me. :eek: Catch you guys later. Good to see some responses , WOT Dave ? NO WAY , Sell the GP and get a 20 ft center console to go to the beaches and fish with the Wife and kids , I love going out top Anclote Key and even drive down to Clearwater from Hudson and back in my Renegade flats boat ,. I have had all my kids on the water and out to the beaches carefully and responsibly at 6 months old . I love teaching my kids how to fish , swim , tube and snorkel etc . I would not even live in Fl. if i could not enjoy it all . I love my Hot boats and won't give them up until I cant get in and out of them anymore ! Family boating is what you make it ! I am now enoying teaching my third child the ways of the water . Lets Rock and Rol on the Suwannee ! Tom .

:( I wish I could talk her into it but I dont think that will work.....I bought a 16' Scout fishing boat and its just to small for the pass-a-grille pass......We get beat up. I am not going to be out of hot boating forever; just til I can get the big boat issue covered first. I will be back but with more of a family hot boat. 24 Skater or 28 Skater. She loves those, but I'm just to broke to jump right into that quick. We are trying to figure it out now........ :(

It kills me but we'll see what the future holds........My heart is still a Hot Boaters Heart....... ;) I might pick up a 260 and put it in the shed to make sure that I always have the itch :D

Not going to be able to make it to Florida for the 4th of July. My whole family and the entire area where we camp and boat on the Ohio river has a large 4th of July bash every year. This year we are going to be adding a memorial to a boy who died this year from the camp/boating area. I'll keep watch on here for all the Florida events, gotta get back to the Sunshine state soon :)

Let's get fired up , July 4th will be here before we know it . I am making my reservations tonight . I will also do a little checking on the river level and some history of past levels, it has been real high of late . Last year was perfect !

I think instead this year I am going to drop the boat in the gulf and run down to clearwater to watch the fireworks.

Unfortunately after 4 weeks off of work I dont think the wallet will want to make the trip............maybe next year.:)

Just got off the phone with the Holiday inn and they have NO ROOMS for the July 4th Weekend a Basesball team has gobbled up the motel ! SO the Best Western is now Race Headquarters and they have plenty of rooms and have said we could get a corporate rate of 49.oo per night ! Phone is 352-493-0663 , I would advise calling and reserving rooms ASAP as there are not a whole lot of places to stay in Chiefland Fl . I have reserved two and anyone who is currently located in the Holiday Inn obviously can party at the Best Western whatever your choice !!Any issuses call me 727-457-8253

I believe the Best Western is onlyabout a quarter mile south of the Holiday Inn . It's the only game in town for that weekend . It looks real nice , maybe I will rideup and use it as an excuse to go to the river !

I would still love to go but the Best Western also has a baseball team and no parking for all the boats . We need a roll call to see how many really will be there and see if the Gables has enough space . If it was a Hockey Team I would know how to party with those guys but baseball .... not .
