Threads disappearing

There are a number of threads that I was searching for, particularly in the For Sale sections, that are no longer available.

Can a user delete an entire thread?

Are old For Sale threads deleted when the boat is sold?

How else might the thread vanish?

The starter of the thread can delet the original post, then the whole thing is gone.
