allison boats will hurt u. most of all the ss 2000.allison boats are over priced by 40%.I know of a dealer that was a long time dealer and set a lot of records for allison.he had the boats taken from him for one reason. He sold them to CHEAP according to ASSison.allison wants to drive the prices up.dont buy this over priced boat . im sure you have heard of HYDROSTREAM BOATS . back in the 70s ,80s they kicked allisons ASS.they went out of the boat market but now they are back.i can tell you for a fact that they are running some impressive times with the new venom.it will need a little more water time and it will start winning races. O yea the same dealer that got the allison boats taken will see to it that the new HYDROSTREAM VENOM WILL BRAKE THESE RECORDS.

With no ill intent towards Hydrostream,it is a fine outboard sportboat.I am sure happy to see some competition in this outboard market because that is better for "JOE PUBLIC." But before you go making insanely stupid comments, you should realize how uninformed and ignorant you sound.Do us all a favor and post a picture of yourself so we can see how ignorant you are in real life ,not just hiding behind a keyboard.By the way it sounds like you could get hurt in a dingie.

LMFAO, Todd dont hold back on him now! :D :D :D (lol Scottie I agree, thats GOTTA take "fidiot of the year" honors.)

I'm glad he told us all that boosheut, never woulda known it or who he was talkin about. Can't wait 'till Hstream takes all those records from Allison since they kicked Alli's asses and all in the 70s and 80s (hmmmm why is Allison's name on all the records from 50-120+ mph starting in the early 60s and continuing too today?)

BTW who came up with Darris' "40% over-inflated" price? Maybe the competition is just 40% under-priced?

Ya get what ya pay for and with an Alli you get ALOT!!! ;)

cant stand it can you .what i say is true. it came from 2 very good sources.and u say im talking out my rear ,i think will be looking out the rear at those has been allisons.that is those of us who has the venoms.i no of 3 allisons that got dusted by one little venom this past weekend and they are believers now.

o and by the way u get a lot more for your money with the venom than you get buying a allison.i would not pay thousands more for a boat of lesser quality been 2 bothf factorys and i can see the differance.allison is a good boat but the venom is going 2 be the one 2 beat.it is back on its old stomping grounds boys

This is a hard thread to post on. Don't want to offend anyone here that has spent their hard earned money on a new Venom but, the biggest difference I have seen so far between the Allisons and the Venom is---about 12mph! If the Venom is going to blow past all those mean ol' Allisons they better step up reel quick! As far as quality, they are better than the old Streams but...BTW, to get back to the original question, Waynes Marine in Lake City sells both boats. You can look at both and judge for yourself.

ill will agree that the allisons are at this time faster .the venom will need a little more water time .but the 2boats with a 260 and similar props run close top end speeds.allison generaly run 107 / 109 there about.the venom 105/107.but the venom that run the 3 allison this past weekend dusted them out of the hole and the allisons had 2 play ketchup.that was pretty impressive for a boat that no one knows what setups 2 run yet.

Well not really. Impressive is increasing the Mod-VP kilo world record by over 10% less than a year after the first hull came out of the mold. The XR2002 did that 22 years ago and a Venom still hasn't ran that fast even with modern horsepower.

I was just wondering that if the boat is so bad then why isn't it entered in some of the ODBA or DSRA or For that matter in some rope holding race group like SDBA. I've never seen one at any site yet. Bring it to the SITC in Arkansas and see it run in the 1000 foot track. I have never seen one out run any Allison that I know of. I have An Allison that we would be glad to run against the Venom anyday. No money involved, just bring it on. Would be an honor.

Jim :D :D

"wouldn't pay thousands more for a boat of lesser quality" and you say you have been to both factories, WTF??? I gotta run out and get one of these new 'streams cause if they are built THAT much better than an Allison then they must be machined from billet! Do you honestly realize how ludicrous such a statement is when you bring into question what is universally regarded as THE strongest hull on the outboard market?

Then you go on to say something like, "well ok for now the Alli IS faster BUT..."

Yeah yeah yea, And if grandma had balls she would be called grandpa!!!

lol i have some balls . there will be one in the lake racers class in odba . the boat is new and it will need some track time and get a few more boats out on the water but the boat will perform well. yall dont get so deffensive about those allisons .they are fast boats.FOR NOW.

hack it those people like you that gets hurt in boats. the allison is so famous at that lets do a right hand tuuuuuuuuuuuuurn now.these boats have a lot of dead rise and if you dont know how to set one up it will blow out AND GET YOU HURT.there would be a lot more people hurt in these allisons if they knew how to set them up,lucky for a lot of people who own them they dont.i have several of my friends that own them and ive seen this blow out problem allison has to many times. so hack if you want to take that chance go RIGHT ahead GET IT RIGHT.

Blow out & right turn is called improper set-up or dropping the throttle too quick, @ least the Allison's spin out, the last STV I saw do this rolled over and crashed.

bring them venoms on and by the way I saw a venom at jasper last year blow-out and he wasnt no where near close to running anyspeed that would even be close to saying i am impressed!!!!! oh by the way I know for a fact that some of the lake racer allisons run faster mph in a 1/4 mile than the venom does wideopen!!!! so COME GET YOU SOME ALLISON!!!!!

I just got off the lake with the Venom that is refered to by Allisonman 280. It just needed some general dial in. Runs like it's on rails and I'm a whisker away from 110. In my opinion the Venom falls between a Gran Sport and an SS2000. It has it's place and the Allison's have theirs. A comparison is not really fair because of what I just stated. If you put it in that place (between the 2 ally's) everything makes sense. They are all great boats, different but great. Hope to see some of the guys posting here at the Ally 50th......then we can swap lies and compare.

I am far, far, far from an expert but I have owned several Streams. I have one now, modified Vector, that has run 90's. I am not the fastest guy around either but I do have a boat that routinely runs 120's. If I pull up next to a Venom and an Ally with equal power, assuming both drivers have a clue, I will worry about the Ally way before I consider the Stream. The Venoms do run well. Clyde brought one to the little get together we had on the Illinois river and it runs real good. There were also several other hulls well represented there. Granted, we did not line them up and race but with 10 to 15 hot rods together there is always a little impromptu stuff going on and I personally didn't see anything there that dominant. Certainly not the Venom.
As much as I have been around high performance boating and as much as I love the Hydrostreams, I have always wondered about the quality of the boats. Mine just got a total rebuild. I cannot count how many tales of delamination I have heard and the only name associated with that phenomena is Hydrostream, not Allison. Any company that has been handled by as many people as Hydrostream is allready a little suspect to me anyway. I could be wrong but I think Allison is a familly name that has been in business for 50 years or so and I know from experience that you don't stay in business that long if you don't have a good product, good support, and a reputation for somehting other than banking dificulties and hiding molds. Maybe that's why they are called Hydrostreams and not Pipkorns. Hopefully Jim will do a better job than some of the others.
I am currently looking for a new bass boat and am seeing an opportunity to get the boat I have always wanted. You see, I need a boat with more than one seat, a boat I can fish out of, a boat that will hold some of it's value as an investment, and something that will fill my need for speed. I had been thinking of a Norriscraft but the feedback I am getting from my peers is pointing me at an Allison. I know you can get a Stream with more than one seat, goes fast, and I have fished out of one. When the day comes that they are even close to what an Allison is for resale, maybe they will be the legend you allready have them made out to be. Just an opinion.

Just so you know, the first little spin I took, I actually went left. Similar to a bi-sexual, they'll go both ways. :D

Still wouldn't trade my GS for a new Hydrostream. Not knocking the Streams, there's just no comparison for what I use mine for. ;)

mjncs08,

I'm sure Jim appreciates your accolades, but do me a favor, shut up.

I had the chance last year to run my boat around the better part of the US, mostly east of the Mississippi. I have run against many Allys, (GS's, SS's) winning some and losing some, but always having fun. I could talk about the differances and would like to with all Ally owners. I respect both the boat and the owners.
The thing is the Venom was designed to be a lake boat that was a "hot rod" in other words, a boat that was "user friendly" first, and fast second. I'm not going to comment on the Ally's mission, it's been well documented.

Point being, run what ya like and we can have all the conversations you want about what makes a great boat, and the good and bad of each idea without ripping a guys ride.

The Ally reunion is coming up and I'm planning on going. Hopefully, I can see a bunch of friends, run some "comparisions" see a lot of GREAT boats and have a blast.

Now, I beleive this post was for Allison dealers....:)

I like the new streams (yours is VERY nice) but your story a few weeks ago about Hydrostream's efforts to make you a happy owner was VERY impressive. Clyde
