I just took a 300x off this little 4 seat 18ft Liberator yesterday and replaced it with a 2003 Merc 225x motor. The x has an Optimax intake and is supposed to be ten more hp than a regular 225 Promax. This boats pretty heavy with all the 40 ounce carpet, stereo system with amps and subs, and oversize seats. I was fiiguering aroun 90mph or so. I took a 30" Lightning ET and a 32" Lightning ET with me. The rev limit is 6800. I tried the 32 first, but did'nt think it would work.
WELL, it pulled the 32 up to the limiter which just kept the warning horn constantly beep at 6900-7000 rpm. Ran 99.8 on Gps. Just could'nt do the 100. This motor is great for a little thing. The boat's for sale with or without the motor under "HULLS UNDER 20" Here's a pic from this morning.

Even a 34" prop would help. The boat's for sale, so I won't be doing the fine tuning. When this boat had the 300X, is was freakin incredible. That motor is going on a full custom 18 footer I'm getting in a week or so. There may be a feature on here about the painting and rigging of it. GONNA BE BADD
