First of all, welcome to the board Flat.
Secondly, the use of the words Mercury parts and reasonable prices in the same sentence is wunna them oxymorons. (contradictions) If you find such a place, how bout sharing with the rest of us.

Flatbottom,
Drop me an e-mail at rvaughan76@aol.com. I'm not sure of your location but I know a guy in Texas with a motor just like yours. He blew the powerhead a few weeks ago and I think his plans are to part it out, and if I'm not mistaken he put quite a bit of money into the lower unit right before the powerhead took a dump.

Hi Bill, thank you for the invite. What I am doing is starting over I guess, took my powerhead apart to find 3 bad pistons & broken rings. I've taken my block and had it bored out to .020 oversize and now my search is on for new parts. Thanks Flatbottom

Thanks Ron, I'm located in Houston Texas, and would probably be interested in some of those parts. My email is abdjkm@yahoo.com

Hey Danny, I'm kind of new to boating so probably do'nt know all the motor language, but what I have is an 850 model 85hp 1973-1977 outboard with a distributor. Starting over with a .020 oversize bore, still have a good block, crank & rods but need about everything else.
Thanks for your help!
