View Full Version : 2.5 300 bogging question

engine is 2.5 300 drag.the engine starts fine & holeshot is good.the problem is as soon as it planes out it bogs and will die unless it is richened with the key.it does this 4 or 5 times & then everything is fine until engine cools down.any help appreciated....

check your spark first in all cyclinders. have you done a spray test on the injectors? what about filters? those checks are easy to do you can ohm the stator and switch boxes. and thats probably where the problem lies any way
stator trigger or switch boxes? hopefuly it isnt the computer but i would guess that that isnt it.

Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure. If there is a dip in the pressure when bogging, your fuel pump may need to be replaced.

fuel pressure is 56-58 & problem is only when engine is cold

Are you using the right spark plugs, right heat range?

Check your ECU temp sensors.

what and where are the ecu temp sensors

Just use an ECU tester. It gives all the readouts on the sensors.
