WHAT'S THE LATEST NEWS ABOUT THE NEW ALLISON BASS BOAT? THE ONLY THING I HAVE HEARD WAS HOW THEY WERE COMPARING IT TO THE 2003 AS FOR ROOMINESS AND SPEED. HAS ANYONE SEEN ONE OF THESE MODELS YET?

The Dealers were supposed to see it on 12/28, but they had to postpone the meeting/introduction due to vendor issues. I've heard it could be as late as March before it's introduced. However, it's a big boat (about 94" wide), more traditional layout, and fast with a big motor. I've heard some retail numbers, but until I get a price sheet, I won't quote those. However, it will obviously be more money than a 2003. It'll probably sell for about the same as a top of the line Ranger.

You know that I have had an interest in buying this boat for over a year, so I gotta know>>>"WHAT"S FAST" with a big motor. It's all relative. 85,90, 95, and how heavy do you think it is?
I didn't touch the vendor issues ( ), so please let us know about the predicted speed, as we all know you know!
Nick~K:cool:
ps: I bet you OMC V-8 freaks are having wet dreams about a boat built to go fast with a Big, HEAVY White motor! You might even be able to put a jackplate on it and fish off the stern! heheheh

To be honest, I've learned to not go with what the PREDICTED speeds are. After having some talks with the Allisons, they're also trying to be realistic about the speeds. I think you'll see a boat that is as fast or faster than any similarly sized boat - Stroker/Bullet - and has added features.
From what I hear, the boat is VERY, VERY TRICK.
They told us to bring their cameras, so as soon as I get home, there'll be photos of it on the website. Hell, I'll probably bring the digital and upload 'em on-site with my laptop :-)
As for the vendor issues, they had a vendor who was supposed to supply handles and other specially made pieces for the boat, but never got around to it, so Darris had to find another vendor. They couldn't quite get it done, so they pushed it back.
Darris is really trying to build the boat that will quiet all the mainstream bassers who say that Allison only builds race boats and not bass boats. The boat is long, wide, and really geared toward fisherman. I think they'll position it more as a super-deluxe boat that goes fast and leave the XB-2003 and XB-2002 as the more speed oriented boats in the lineup.
