View Full Version : Daytona bike week
So... I was watching the motorcycle races from Daytona (and wishing I was there)... Suprisingly, Aaron Yates ran 22 laps on the (new, improved  ) track, didn't crash, finished on the podium and didn't drop-kick anyone.. Probably better for his career, but nowhere near as interesting as last year.. Of course, he still has the Superbike race tomorrow....

Well the first 22 laps of the 200 were AWESOME...then Miguel had his 13 second pit stop to Roberts 19 second pitstop....the Miguels consistant 43's....then Miguels 13 second stop to Roberts 38 second stop....Then more of Miguels 43's...then the only thing exciting about the race was the race between Miguel and the fifth place guy and whether he would lap him. Then the race between Miguel and the fourth place guy, lapped him too. Daytona #5 was won in DOMINATING style.
Yea.. He won.. and I like Duhamel, but this should only count as 1/2 a win. There wasn't anybody out there to race with.. I think it was funny that even the announcer (don't remember which one) commented on the race being a "Honda scrimmage".. I guess you can only race who's out there, but I would have been happier if they would have used Supersport bikes --at least there would have been more than one manufacturer involved...

Awesome !!!! it was nice to have a garaunteed parking spot.
It was funny that Honda, who puts on the race, changed the 200 to the Formula extreme instead of Superbike, which it has been for years. The only thing I couldn't figure was what provided the most motivation for doing it. So they could win the Daytona 200 or so Miguel would get the record. I guess it will be the same for at least one more year, so he can break the record.

The Daytona Supercross was a dandy, Chad Reed and Ricky Carmichael fighting it out.

It was a dandy 'till RC ate **** through the whoops. What was amazing, was as bad as he wrecked, then his horrible lap after the wreck with ribbons all wound up in his sprocket and all, he still never lost second place. Those two had checked out.
