dial up connection stalls?

it's kinda wierd

i'm going along reading threads then it stalls out, just sits there

i look down at the task bar and the dial up connection icon is not lit up

so i have to keep clicking on them to "wake them up" and it works again for a little while then stalls again

what is causing this?

If you're using aol that's your problem. If not it's still probably your ISP.

i stay away from AOL

my server in florida and my server in tennessee are 2 different companies and it did this down there also

i'm wondering if re-installing a new windows version will clear up the problem? maybe a glitch in this one????

Skip, which version of Windows are you using? Please don't say Windows 98 or ME...

Did you scan your system for spyware or viruses? That would be the first thing I would do. Call me if you need help.

i did a scan on it the other day with "ad aware" and cleaned it up

sometimes if i reboot it like i had to just now it will work half decent

whatcha thinkin' ?
