I am about to rigg a 17 feet v bottom with 120 hp and do not have the funds to buy a hydralic steering, so I wounder if a dual cable such as the Teleflex could be a good choice at speed around 65.

I am running a Teleflex dual rack on my 19' Vista , also with 120 power. Handles great, you should have no problem.

It is more than enough and you will be extremely happy with it. Many 100 plus rigs still come with it...some people simply do not like hydraulic steering.

friends have a 17' skeeter bass boat with a 150 and dual rack and pinion cable steering and love the way it runs...
and it was a 86MPH hull till prop got dinged and engine is starting to get tried...(1987)
still runs close to upper 70's and works great.

the doble rack will be fine but put tork tab on lower helps with steering tork.the hydraulic steering is the best but at 75 MPH or lower the old tellaflex will work. good luck and have fun

A dual cable system would be just fine, you won't get alot of torque steer with one on that small of outboard.

You'll find it here: http://rickracers.com/product_info.php?products_id=2824 . You might also have a look at the Teleflex BayStar hydraulic system: http://rickracers.com/index.php?cPath=124_343_631_841 , it is $520 plus shipping for S&F members. Let us know if we can help.
