I am trying to hook all the hoses wires up neatly. I got 2 fittings on the boat that i got from REX marine a long time ago. It uses a black flex hose that has a 2" ID.

Below is the mercury parts that would apply to this.

I think 875266A1 is the fitting do i Put on my Cowl (1999-280).? Will this fit the 2" ID hose?

This hose looks a little expensive??

Thanks for your help.

Try looking at the Stainless Marine website. http://www.stainlessmarine.com (?). They don't have the mount for the cowl, but have a really neat mount for the deck and the hose. It's clean (no clamps) and cheaper. You should be able to use the merc mount for the cowl because both systems are 2".

I just did this and it does look cool.

I turned my own end mounts from aluminum pipe. A little trouble mounting to the cowl side.
UV resistant vacuum hose from Mcmaster-Carr. Smooth bore on the inside. I pulled a group of strings through the hose to pull the hoses and stuff. I left 2 in place for any future additions.
I still want to cover the hoses with the stainless braid but can't find any to expand to 2.25"-2.5" My hoses don't touch anything so I don't have to worry about filing from the braid

Techno Have you looked for the braid in the Summit Racing Catalog? they used to have it to cover radiator hoses. I use hose kits from Eddie Marine they are not to expensive and the end caps come in alot of different colors. It sure makes a clean rig job.

I just got a Rex Marine kit with anodized ends. $67.00 for two ends and six feet of hose. At Firewater I saw the hose get pushed through the opening in the cowl and a pop rivit through the bottom of the hose into the cowl to keep the hose from moving. (Bob Ecks Allison / 280)

Shop vac hose works really good and is cheap. The 2 1/2" hose is 2" inside. You can get 2" PVC hose barbs and stick them through from the back side of the cowl or transom area to hold the hose. I did this to my Viking and it looked very good for under $15.00. Check it out the link. It's listed as Blair Martens Viking now.

Good luck.

We have done what Alaska streamin has done with the vacume hose. If you want you can slit it to make it easy to change stuff and hold it closed with wire ties. We have the hose go right into the covers.

I used the fittings that come with the hoses on my new cowl.i orderd some black powder coated and drilled holes on the cowl and mounted them, they look very sharp and clean.
