Did anybody catch the 250 Main yesterday?
It was great to see Mcgrath out there again, and to see him get the Holeshot was even better, but when Ricky Carmiecal passed Mcgrath over the triples and they looked each other in the eyes at about 30 feet in the air and Ricky pointed over at Magrath as he passed, THAT WAS TOO COOL.
Even better when they showed the replay from Ricky's helmet cam, as he looked over at Mcgrath, and Mcgrath looked back like, "where did you come from" then Ricky changed zip codes on him, and was gone.
I know Jeremy is rusty after two years without racing Supercross, but he still did pretty good.
I used to go watch live all the time when it was Mcgrath at every race, he was unstopable.

I'm not a Jeremy or an RC bandwagon-hopper but you have to look at it for what its worth... Both riders are legends. McGrath is the poster child for modern day SX, and RC rewrote the moto record books. Both riders are IT! In his day, the dual earringed McGrath took this sport into the lime-light like no other rider before. RC is the man now, but how mainstream would RC be without Showtime's ground work? RC's 'finger point' should have been a 'thumbs up' since Jeremy patented that move years before when RC was just a manufactured MiniBike baby. Its called respect. RC for years has tried to clean up his arrogant image, without luck... go figure. The jealousy shows. It would have only been worse if RC flew the middle finger. Ricky better play nice.... he may have shattered all records but he also seems to self destruct. He's trying hard to make himself into just another 'flash in the pan'. Oh well, he's made his cake already.

I only saw this commercial once, but it appeared, that another rider was passing Mcgrath on the triples, and he did "The Nac-Nac" while in the air beside Mcgrath, (Mcgrath's trademark stunt)
Was that a slap in the face of Mcgrath, or a show of respect?
I always liked Guy Cooper, even though 1/2 the time he was off the bike, or hanging onto the seat, or laying across the seat at the finish line, he never let off the throttle, (I saw him win a race at the finish one time, side by side, and laying across the seat, but still won)

Boy was I wrong .I watched it lastnight , that was the best race this year!!. To bad those lapers got in the way :p  Chad was very emotianal on the podium, you could tel how mutch it ment to him to beat RC strait up. :D
Now if they could just bring back Art Ekman and David Bailey to do the telacast. Now that would be somthin
It's allways great to watch MC ride ! the man has style

Yes, MC was the king in his prime, so was Mike Dominguez(anyone know who that is?). I am the exact same age as MC so I know how that old man feels out there. He looked like I imagine I would on the DRZ on that sx track. He looked like he could fall at any minute. I liked Guy Cooper and Mark Barnett. Too bad you couldn't get all those guys in their prime in a shootout. That would be interesting. Remember the races with Ricky Johnson and Bailey, both in prime condition. Knock down drag outs. I am sure RC didn't do that out of disrespect. He says he has MC posters on his wall still. I just want to see RC smoke Reed some more. Reed needs to be taken down a notch or two.

Mike Dominguez.........wasn't he the "WHEELIE KING?"

I have met all the guys before. But I will have to stick with my old buddy Heath Voss. I even had the Bike he raced the 2000 US open with. Broke my feemer with that sucker

Nope. Your thinking of Doug Domokos ;) :D
Held the world record for a continues wheelie 145 miles  held it for 8 years!

Domokos slow-wheelied around the entire Red Bud track back in the 70s at a Trans-USA race. He would stop on a wheelie for a spectator's beer handout, then wheelie away on a Silver Tank Maico. He had a very cool talent.

Yea, I saw him try that at the Okland, CA supercross 1977 or 1978  The place was filled with SAND and he got about 2/3ds of the way and got bogged down in the deep sand. Gave it a hell of a try though
That was allso the now infamus PADDLE TIRE race wen Kent Howerton smoked the feild :D Bob Hannah sead after the race, "YOU CANT PASS WHAT YOU CANT SEE"
I'll never forget that race :D

Mike Dominguez was king of the skateparks in 1986 on a Hutch Trickstar(lmao)! That paddle tire story is funny. Bob Hannah was (is) a fast dude.
Good: owning Heath Voss' bike!!!!!!!!!!!
Horrible: broken femur--ouch!!!!!!

I've got an old MX magazine with him on the cover riding a wheelie with the fender folded back,(touching the ground), he has an old pair of the Scott hard shell MX boots, (that I still own a pair of)
Hmmmmmmm, now where did I get my love for wheelies from?? (water and dirt)

...wasn't that Weinert with the paddle tire? ...it forced the AMA's infamous no-paddle tire rule. Maybe it was Howerton, man that goes way back huh? Scott boots... how bout' Muira Heckle Boots? CeMoto! :D

Didn't Weinert die of injuries sustained during an MX race?

Don't know about them, (Muira Heckle, Ce moto) what did they look like?
The Scotts were hard plastic all over, all the way to almost the knee, they had a pivot/hinge at the ankle and they would creek when you walked.
My Hipoints are so much more comfortable, but probably also outdated by now.

Waterwings, Guy Cooper was awesome, I loved watching him ride. remember when he entered that trials race with team Suzuki, and they all painted those little cereal boxes black and taped them to their hemlets. Everyone was screaming they cheated, only to find out it was cereal boxes. HAHAHAHA !!!!
I always like Johny O'Mara and Broc Glover. Remember when Yamaha went to red and white colors and Broc showed up in his Pink leathers and white boots, that guy was too cool.

oops :o  I think your right about that , It was "JAMMIN" JIMMY WEINERT. And yes it was a long time a go.
I never liked the scott boots, I always wore Hipoints they were made by Alpinestars. They still make the best, I love my Tech 8's :D

Those Heckle Boots were same thing as the Scott's with the ankle pivot... just a couple years earlier. They were like ugly orangish color and you could find them in all the Bultaco ads. I think Jim Pomeroy may have wore them on occasion. Moto standard gear circa somewhere in the 70s... HiPoint Boots (by Alpinestars), KRW or Electro Helmet with Torsten-Hallman Visor ('Thor' while it was still TH without the 'OR' off road) , Carrera Goggs (with the corners open to let all the dust in at the eyes), Jofa Mouthguard (hockey issue), Perforated-nylon Jersey (couldn't keep em' tucked in and hotter than hell), JT or MalcomSmith Pants (by Yoko Finland), Hallman gloves (the ones with the *H* on them, but only if you could get the ones made in Sweden). Almost forgot... had to have those long moto socks cuffed out over the tops of your boots... Yikes!

Hard to tell, but because that is outdoors, could that be a YZ 360??
Metal tank, can't tell if it has the monoshock or twins.
I had the YZ 400, boy that thing was a beast, after I got my CR-500, I rode the 400 again......I don't see how I rode that thing so good, called it "The Battle axe"....you could come almost to a complete stop in second gear, (without pulling the clutch in), and still chug off again....the CR wont do that.

Sorry bout the size of the pic, I tride to make it biger but no luck
The bike is a 1976 yz 100cc, I was 13 at the time . I still have the KRW helmet with my name and # on it :D
To get back to the origanal topic ( sort of ) Do yo think BUBBA STEWART will win a 250 main this season?
Oh god... Those old big-bore bikes were just horrible. One of my neighbors rode a TM400 for years -- what a junker, even then. Impossible to start, no (and I mean NO) suspension.. Yea, when the RM's with the lay-down shocks came out we thought we were in hog heaven.. I remember a brand new 125 cost me $885..

I think Bubba Steward would play hell to win a main this year. They'll knock him off the track if he gets close to the front!

Bubba is fast enough to win in the 250s...no problem... but if he doesn't get a streak of consistent podeum(?) finishes soon, it just might eat him up like the Lechiens, Reynards & Travis's of the past. My guess by what he's shown so far... he is here today, gone tomorrow. Too bad... tons of talent.

All kiddin' aside, I think the guy could finish on the podium if he were to ride his kx 125. In 20 laps he could pass a lot of people with the authority he rides with on the 125 in the 250 class. Just a "what if". Scott
