I notice that some of the Allisons have a small fairing in front of the engine. This looks to be an effort to reduce drag but I'm curious how it affects engine noise. My parents would like their boat to be a little quieter so I'm thinking of building a fairing that sits over the splashwell to act as a bit of a sound reflector. If I knew I could knock it down 6 dB or so, I would go for it. Any advice.

Thanks,

many pontoon boats have a rear bench seat and incorperated in this seat-pad arrangment it puts a barrier between the motor and the occupants. motor noise is seriously reduced
