Hi!
I have been looking at different monohulls for some fast fun, and Ocke Mannerfelt has designed a 23 footer with some amazing speed figures. The B23 is slightly smaller than the One Design Race Boat Reindl 24, and made for outboards.
The speed figures are:
One 200 hp XR2 = 94 mph and with one Merc 2.5 EFI = 105 mph!
Powerboat Mag tested the 24 footer with inboard engines with favourable results. VolvoPenta hulls?
Cheers and thanks, Toffen - Norway

Have seen and read alot about the boats your talking about, also that they built 2 19 footers on the same design platform that really flew, but don't know where those went?
Later...K.K.

I have talked with a couple of guys that have run the 23 Bat boats. They are a remarkable boat and propbably the fastest rough water vee on the market. They did not get the speeds you mentioned in your post. In smooth water they are a couple of MPH's slower than a very light 21 Skater with a 2.5. I would gues that this would put them in the low 90's at best in race trim.
The 24's with the 377 mercruisers would run right at 80. They were supposedly a lot of fun to drive in rough water.
B19 - There are more than 2 of them. The fastest ones raced, yet, are Per Oscarsson's (designer) and Claes Westerlund's boats. They were third and eight in World Championships (UIM offshore 1,3 litre, 38 boats). The B19s are fast in calm seas, and they can also take big pounding suprisingly well. Definately worth buying, if you have the money. B19s are very expensive for a boat that size.. Toffen, if you want a bigger batboat, buy a B23. Ingvarsson and Little have made wonders with them. Not everyone will be able to get such speeds out of them.. BUT if you want speed, buy a cat :D If you want a fast one, there is a 24 footer Argo for sale. First one with steps that I know of. It's raced only few times, and is in very good condition. And everything in that boat is the best the money can buy... With your Promax 100 knots shouldnt be a problem. Contact Marcus on this board, if you want more info on that Argo.
