View Full Version : Propshaft center vs. nosecone center

I'm having a discussion on another board about propshaft heights.

I seem to remember (and further recall from my own measurements) that the tip of the nosecone on the Sportmaster is NOT in line with the propshaft; that there is a 3/8" offset vertically (nose being lower than shaft centerline).

I could be wrong. Does anybody know for sure?

The nose is center line with the prop shaft, you can level the bottom of a boat on the trailer, then level the prop shaft using the power trim, then measure from the floor to the center of the nose, then from the floor to the center of the prop shaft, the measurement will be the same on a stock unit.

 Dependz on who dun ya nozecone where it iz in location to your shaft CL...My CLE iz @ CL ov tha shaft, but my small geercase is 1/2 inch above tha CL ov shaft...Now my 2:1 big case iz actually below the CL ov shaft(closer to even wit bottom ov shaft)...I thank tha placement ov the cone dependz on tha set up your runn'in, and who installs it...The CLE's and Sportmasters are "General" built for multi applications, but when U git into added cones, they should be located wher your boat/prop combo wants it!!...Juss my 2 cents, REX
