I think Barefoot Bob had a run-in with it. Do a search, I think others had some comments also.

The best thing that I have ever used is Frenzy Wax.

I have found that some waxes are tough to repair over. You remove the wax and it just keeps surfacing. I choose to machine my work down, then use a fine finish, brands don't matter in the case of the weekend guy. He will make it shine from elbow greae alone. S--- shape tv is a joke and allthough he has knowledge he is swayed by any product to come his way.

I will not say what compounds I use, those are trade secrets. I will say that any wax out there is going to make things shine, but the truth is in the print on the bottle" lasts 12 months?"

A Kit wax from Walmart or Napa is an easy wax to use and cheap. Higher end is better but the boat should look pretty good before wax. Then the wax makes is perfect by filling in flaws and scratches. This is the wax build up I speak of. Malco products also produce similar results but I do not use them.

Bottom line is:

Buff it

fine finish it

seal it

wax it

3m,Malco ,Meguire's all excellent for this and cheap. The stuff I use can not be sold over the counter. But I sell both 3m and Malco products.

But my brother works there, so I'm biased.
But they are good products. I use them on my boats, cars and bike.

I have some Malco Rejuvenator and it works well. Just tried a bottle of Dupont Teflon spray wax and loved it. My boat has a lot of vinyl graphics and the spray wax don't leave the build up around the edges.

I leave my big boat in the water for the entire summer, so it gets a lot of weather. I have tried quite a few products, and the worst by far was 3M. After 2 washes or even heavy rains it was gone, no more beading. The best I've tried was Mother's pure carnuba wax. VERY hard to apply but worth it.

zaino... on anything, aluminum, gel, paint... after you use this stuff you'll never use anything else. its easy to apply and remove, optically perfect, and freagin tough. a truck kicked up a rock at 60+mph, hit my gto at an angle and slide across the hood, the mark WIPED OFF... there is a reason why lambo, ferarri, maserati, bentley, and other high end companys specify for their dealers to use it. there is no substitute.

"As you can see, the Zaino Z-2 Show Car Polish was the best, hands down."

:D lol...

although, on the 3rd link, they mentioned the zaino was hard to remove... they must not have clay-barred the car correctly before the first application. I didnt clay my rc boat when i tested the stuff, and although the paint was brand new, the zaino was a bitch to remove. I decided before i started the GTO that I would hit it with the clay.

Even with a regular wax, if you clay bar the surface it will be much easier to apply and remove.
