What would be a good choice in props for a 24 skater with a cruising load, Like 4 people and gear and can still be respectable? Not concerned with that last mph ......Just a good cruise and acceleration! Motors will be 93/94 2,5 carb 200's! Thanks C

I also have a 24 skater with 92 2.5 200s stock. I just bought the boat 2 months and had it rigged nicely.Made a big difference in ride and acceleration. I have 14x30 mazco s with sportmaster lowers and offshore jackplate with 7 inches of setback. Boat will run 100mph with the installed gps speedo 1/2 tank of gas and 2 people with very strong accelaration. How does yours run thanks, john

Thats good numbers for the 200 hp carb motors from what i hear, I am in the process of rigging now and would like to chat with you about yours.Sounds like we are going to be similar in set up. I have two sets of props ,one is 15x30 cleavers and the other is the 14.5x28 4 blade lab cleavers....hope that one of these will do the job. If you would like to chat e mail me your number [email protected] Thanks

hey guys hows it going?
My dad has a 24 liberator we bought new 2 years ago. We started out with 2.4 200s they had a little work done to them. the props we had were labed 14 1/2 30s mazcos cleavers. The props pulled the boat suprisely well. ran right at 100mph. Then we put a set of 97 2.5s about 280hp. running 14 1/2 30 4blade merc cleavers and with 3 aboard 2 ice chest we hit 117mph at 8300rpm. motors will reve more we just had to many people in the way. We talked to the designer of the mercury props he said with 32s it should put us at 122mph at 8100rpms. MY 2cents to you would maybe try a set of 28 4blades. The 4blade we have pull extremly hard. good luck.

117 is a very nice number. I'm curious, at what point does it start to get slow to get that next mile per hour? For example, my old 21 Skater would pull hard up to 93 then 94....95...96....97 took some time.

I have a 24 with 260s, I expect to see a little over 110. The previous owner said it did 115 with the stock 280s that were on it. (My boat is also a vacuum bagged hull). I understand that passing the 120 mark is very hard to achieve with the 24, they kinda hit a wall at 120 now matter how much power you throw at them.

I'll be running the 14.5 x 32 lab cleavers that came with the boat, but I too may want a more load carrying prop for those five person/cooler days.

yes i still have 15x28 lab cleavers for 1200 great acceleration,if you want top end you might try 15x32 merc cleavers with 2.1 gears,we used this on our 24 skater with 1991 2.5 200 to set apba kilo at over 103 mph
