What Merc book time to remove, rebuild and reinstall a Merc 3 ram trim system is? It's an 87 V-6 200, you have to split the clamp brackets to get it out. Thanks

I have the 1987 flat rate manual and it doesn't say how much to remove it. The longest time they have on it for any repair is 1 hour. Around here it cost alot because of those stainless screws that hold it to the clamp brackets always break. Those idiots at Mercury you would think would change that to Heli-coils or something so it is posssible to service the unit with out having to drill and tap all the bolt holes. Most of the time i don't rebuild them It's just as cheap to replace the whole unit if you figure in the drilling and tapping. I tried to heat them before but there is just not an easy way to get the flame to the place it needs to get to. Sorry I cann't give you the time but it seems that mercury isn't really sure how long it takes. :D
