What would be a good sized chopper to put on a 94 Blazer 202 with a 93 200 mercury to run about 6000 rpm? The boat is suposed to be a 1300 lbs boat. Looking to run the boat with about 30 gal fuel and 2 people and gear.

Just guessing I would have to say something like a 24 or 26p big eared chopper. You might be better off with something like a 4-blade Trophy though.

I would run a Tempest or Trophy befor a Chopper on that boat Simply because of the Holeshot seems to be better and top end is veryclose if not higher as the tempest has fairly large blades for a thru hub and the trophy is kind of a hybrid in the sence it is an over/thru hub design. and both props seem to run well on blazer hulls.

get a 24p and give it extra cup to get better holeshot and carry the bow better. they love that combo for top end, and you cant beat the holeshot of a cupped roundear.

Thanks for the info I was just looking to get one. I have a barrowed 25 tempest plus that I didn't get any good numbers with on a ballanced boat. When I ran that prop I had 20gal of fuel on the drivers side and little less than 10gal on the passenger side I ran 69.4gps but the boat was very hard to handle. I was at 6000rpm and still had a little left over. The crank had broke and the motor is fixed now so when it's back on the boat I'll get some new numbers with the Tempest. He is also going to let me try a 25 trophy. I think it's going to be a 26 that does it as for the trophy or tempest. I have a 23 ballistic and it does realy nothing for the boat.

I have a 97 pro185 procraft with 150 efi mariner. a bit heavy. i ran a 26'' big ear merc chopper on it at 6100+rpm's. you can expect 15% slip with about any over the hub props.the hole shot was not good , but when the bow started falling it was strong to topend. the chopper runs about 0.7 mph faster than my 25 tempest. the tempest has a good hole shot, strong midrange and good topend. i had handling problems with the tempest also until i realized i was running the engine to high. now its good.i think it should be a good prop for a blazer, with enought set-up time. i have also ran several trophy's on my boat, they did okay, but the tempest out shined it in everyway. try running the tempest a little lower. good luck .
