Hmmmm, It seems that alot of us in hee spend alot of our money on boat stuff. I belives in the advantage of power buying or group buyin, volume buying, whatever you terms. Perhaps would could ask Greg to add a forum :Getting ready to purchase :
Then if other members are interested in same product or same company perhaps would could ssay hey Joe, I got 5,000 order for parts, what kind of break will you give me.
Just for example many many people buy Penz syn oil, what if we bought 10 cases at a time ??
Or placing order with Rex or Eddies, when you say give me 5 shifters 30 mushrrom cleats I thinks we might get a deal.
Just an Idea.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ???? ALL COMMENTS good or bad?
And those of you who do retail business what would you do if customer were to do this , give em a deal or not ?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS,,,,
O the weather outside is frightful...

sounds like a good idea. But would one person recive all the items then send them all out to the other buyers?? Sounds like it might be a bunch of work.. But it could be a way to get better deals..

Excelent idea even at the retail end you can bargain quantities. I am retired but work for West Marine I have seen this even happen at this level. Let me know more details and any help or what you intend to buy for I always need parts I bought a Mercury. Delawarerick

I would be able to offer my connections for buying items thru companies that I have accounts with.. I can't order to much in the way of high performance stuff but general items I can do with no problems. I have one special contact with a wholesaler that gives me special deals. I also have a UPS account and a credit card machine for accepting payments. I could do the occational power buy and only charge a minimal amount to cover boxes and credit card service charge.
One Item I can think of for a power buy are GPS's.. I don't need one myself as I just bougt my second Global Map 100 just last month. My first one died. But I know that many people need or want them.. Any other idea's post them here and see how many people want them and who can get the best price.

Guages, Billet stuff, OIL, water pump impellers, plugs..
Heck, open acct with the big boys under S&F have a member ID number (secret pin) . Lots of members on this board, We obviously buy lot's of "stuff" But I don't really have a business head or understand the industry enough to know whats what!
Just an example, there is a big parts warehouse here Glenn L Marine. I try to buy parts, say cant sell them to me. Not a distributor?
Power in Numbers.... thats all I got to say bout that!

For those who want or need to buy stuff just start a new thread. I am in the retail business and if I saw that enough people were wanting something that I has access to I would gladly make a special deal on a sum lot. I think that others in the same bizz. would do the same, so lets try it.;)

I would love a great deal on a set up Dual EGT guages.. I have looked on ebay and you can get single Autometers in the $100 to $130 range.. But haveing a duel digital would be sweet.. Or really any other ones that can be gotten in a bulk buy and cheap..
