I Would Limit The Engine To 6500 If It Has The Stock Pistons (cast)
Much More Than That And Very Bad Things Happen.( I Speak From Experience) Just My Opinion......rob

A stock fingerported 200 2.4 iz capible ov 8000 to 8500rpm...Depending on prop/bote/weight etc...I don't have a problem wit cast pistons that turn 8000 to 8500, but I change them after a season ov race'in...

Get the tach that runs up to 7000. Plan on running your engine at or around 6000 to 6500 Rpms if you plan on using it for pleasure use. Increase your oil mixture if you plan on running 6500 plus for long durations. I would remove the oil injection unit and mix my gas/oil mixture to about 42:1. I have left the oil injection units on, kept them full and working and still mix oil with my gas, it is the cheapest insurance in the world! I like to keep my fish'n engines down around 5500 rrrr's, my ski boat engines to under 6000 and I don't run at wide open throttle for loooonnngg periods of time. I also use Mercury oil or OMC when the Quicksilver is not available. :) Capnzee
