This past week I got to see my 16 year old cousin Stephen play a show with his band. They totally kicked ass too, and I was so proud of them. Two years ago Stephen mentioned to me that he wanted to learn how to play the guitar, so I gave him one of mine. Sure enough, he practiced that guitar every day, and he has come a long way. He's really getting good too. I'm also glad that he's also a kick-ass student in school and sports. As you can see, he's really into 'old-school' metal, which I think is especially cool!

He's the one on the far right...

Here's one more - the classic Ibanez Destroyer is one of my favorite guitars. Laker, Capt. Insane-o, this is right up your alley!

Pretty cool. I bought my nephew his first guitar when he was 14 and it does my heart good to see how far hes come and getting with it. Now he's 22 and married but still plays at church and for fun.
Jamb session is now scheduled for after work tonight in the office with some guys from the jobsite. Thanks for the inspiration!

Just keep him away from the wah pedal.......for the past ten years all of Hammet's solos have sounded like someone strangling a cat..........

But very cool! Now he needs to take the Destroyer one step further ;) \m/

My son has a band too, they have played out a few times, most recently to back up Jet Set Satellite (they have a good website) at a school fundraiser. I cant think of a better thing for the young 'uns to do. They practice here in the basement and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have a video of a TV interview they did about them, but it's too big to post here.
