I got a my new boat yesterday, its a 10'. It's basically a shell right now but that's the way I wanted it so I can redo things just right. BUT I haven't ever heard of this type. The title says its a 1982 Mark I at 10' 4" It looks to me like a GW Invader. Has anyone seen or heard of this though? And what size motor you'll think I could fit on her? I got's a 70 hp Merc but was thinking of something a lil bigger any ideas? thanks

BASH,

What are you running on that FX-10 Musclehead Special ????

And WHAT do you see from it ???

DUSTER - I have a 12'-6" Delta w/ a shortie 70 Merc on it, and it breaches redline w/ a 10 1/4" X 21" 3 blade stainless cleaver. The nose is about 3" below the pad, but it spins a bit getting on plane as it has no trim right now ;)

Check with what BASH is using as his boat is real close to yours :D

Looks like a pop ???

Trikki: What do you see from your Delta? At that speed how does she handle? Very nice boat I looked up some pics of it. What type of powerhead do you have for it. I saw u got it from contender. I have a 700 Merc 70 hp that has no compression on the top cylinder. I am planning on tearing into it in the next month or so, when I get the time. What happened to your powerhead? thanks

Hey Guys!...Trikki. Thats is FX10's buddies SUPERVADER (not me pictured! :) ). FX has one with a 40 & goes over 50...& that 70 'Vader goes by him like he's standing still. I am contemplating him building me one...as I"ll go with either a new 60 or 70 MERC. They don't slide out like the GW's do. Toys.........

Superbash: Does that SuperVader have tilt, trim? Does the Super have a higher transom height than the GW? if so how much?

Trikki since when was a delta 11' long  :D That looks like a hulleva lot of fun, I had one with a 35 and you could almost do 360's in it, pretty forgiving.

The floor is in need of repair and I'm somewhat familiar with redoin the floor b\c I helped my dad with his Glastron a couple of years ago and this past summer did our Taylor (jet). But both of those had the stringers laid vertically but this one has them laid flat (to speak of) the picture should be able to help explain. Any tips for tieing it into the transom? and what size plywood ontop of them for the floor? 3/8's or 1/2 thanks

I tried to help identify where the stringers where, and then put a pic so u could see it more clearly.

Sorry Duster,

I'm just plain slow in the winter and I can't measure ;)

The Delta is very forgiving compared to some, but will slide out if pushed at speed. Nothing REAL drastic, just makes the driver have that "O" face ;)

This summer she topped out at 60 after burning the top cylinder, I replaced the powerhead. Top carb shut down  That's 60 w/ a 130 lb kid or 55 w/ 205lb. immature adult ;)

Looking for a Stinger for a project so my son can dust 10.5, if he can save his pennies to come to the ROMP  :D Honestly, 10.5 just did much the same for his Delta and it came out nice....

I like 3/8", but you can't use crap 3/8" CDX if it starts to span too much because that plywood is Sh%t and will crack, 4 ply or better....

Can't tell from your pics if the stringers are level, the span between them, or do you need to make frames to make them level. You can glass frames to the hull w/ biaxial strips, fair the frames and epoxy the floor to the frames/hull, fasten w/ bronze screws @ frames. Biaxial strips at the perimeter and cloth to cover and protect lapped up the hull. At the transome, I epoxied a frame to the transome, lapped that to the hull, then fastened the floor and lapped biaxial from floor up transome.

Coat bottom side of ply with a sealer or thinned epoxy before installing.

Gonna build seats ???

Post pics of her rebuild.

I replaced the stringers and floor in that boat too. It was a gw invader though, which looked the exact same (someone popped someones along the line I guess). It took like a weekend to fully remove and replace it all :p I made a bench seat up, and padded the dash with some free balck vinyl. Then I made a tonneau cover, it was pretty slick ;) Then painted her yellow, with black stripes. Unfortunatley I ran it HARD and cracked it right in half about 2 months after the rebuild  I seem to recall there was 4 stringers, and they didn't tie into the transom. I would have done it, but I wasn't on this site then. I was careful and got the floor out in more or less one peice, and just used that as a template. PS thanks for the compliment Trikki :D

Unless you see an angry face, I'm just a teasing away  ;)

I like to give credit where credit is due also :D :D

Besides, I can't even remember how big the Delta is

Worked on the floor. this included pulling out the old rotten stringers, replacing them with new ones and putting down a new floor. I also filled in my dash for my new guages and center mount steering. Yet to come of course. thanks
