I have a boat sitting in Alberta Canada that I need shipped to Toronto. I am flexible on time but am looking for hopefully someone to backhaul it for cash or whatever. I have a tentative connection but when they will have a load coming is uncertain. Does anyone know of a company/private party who would be interested in making some gas money for this trip?
The load is 650 lbs, light but bulky at 21.5' long, 6.5' wide. Bare hull with no trailer.
Any help or suggestions greatly apreciated. I want my winter project before spring!!
Load is in the Red Deer area btw

Have you tried a moving company? (Allied Transport, etc...)
If time isn't an issue this may be a better, and cheaper option than UPS, Fed Ex, etc...
If not I have a friend in Logistics, who has trucks going as far as BC.
The problem you may run into with him, is the size of the boat. Especially if you crate it up too.
There are companies that specialize in shipping boats too. I'll check into this tommrow at work, and try to get back to you tommrow on this.

Is it crated or on a shipping platform?
If it is, let me know and I can get it on the Link, which will advise and price it for the first half load on routeto T.O.

The boat will be apropriately "skidded" by the manufacturer but not crated as such. They will load it with a forklift etc
I'm told the best way to send it is on top of something heavy but dense like a load of flat steel or something. Its is bulky lengthwise but not by weight or height. Its a perfect half trailer load or as I said sitting on top of something else.
I definatly apreciate the help guys. The boat still needs alot of work before it gets wet again and i do NOT want to be without a boat when the water is liquid again. The sooner its here there better. Besides I am absolutly dying to drive this thing. It needs an updated rollcage etc (yes you read that correctly lol)

A week off seems like a good idea till you do the math on the drive and gas(not to mention boredom factor!) Its 3700 km ONE way!
It would cost way more in gas than shipping. If it had a trailer it would be easier but the trailer is here waiting to be welded together, It's all aluminum too ;)
Most recent pics and info is in the jetboat page under "getting bitten by the aluminum bug"
