When leaving for work tonight I noticed a small slow moving car, with what looked like an older couple inside, in front of me. I had a feeling from how they slowed down often that they didn’t know the road. When they were near the highway they slowed and started what looked like a U-turn. I had a funny feeling so I stopped and watched. It was a good decision as they didn’t make a U-turn but went strait up the exit ramp. If there was a worst ramp for them to take this was it. Coming down the highway the exit is right after a hill and it gives only about three seconds to turn onto. If they continued onto the highway going the wrong way they wouldn’t have seen any oncoming cars until they were in one of the two lanes. The cars would have been going about 50-60 MPH.
Well like I said, I thank God that I seen it coming, and responded very quickly. First I laid or the horn which slowed them down but they kept going. Then I did a quick 90 degree turn and started flashing my lights also. By now they were about 200 ft away and 100 ft from the highway. Thank God it worked, they stopped and about 5 seconds later started to turn around. I saw the traffic light turn green and decided they would be OK so I crossed the Highway. As I did I saw that about eight cars just coming over the hill. I think that they would have been just getting to the hill at the same time.
At first I taught dam just saved some lives, but then I taught, I just got up to go to work and I wasn’t fully awake yet! I think I just did what I was told?
