as you all know im in the market for a new motor. i have found a couple, but i have somthing else in mind. would it be at all possible to rig two of my 115's on my predictor? i have a line on one to match mine. the weight would be around 600#. would there be enough room? i got the idea from the powercat site. there are all kinds of those older boats with two motors. would two work with my hull design? i am very serious about this so lets here your 2 pennies on this matter. this is a very old photo so pay no mind to the filth.

Your transom would need rebuilt for one and the fuel tanks will have to be doubled. Why wouldnt you just buy a used 260 and be done with it.I dont think that hull will be that fast anyway. Is your ultamite goal to go faster and how fast are we talking. No offence but I think you should get a different boat If speed gains are what you realy want. :)

i know this hull isnt a fast hull. dont get me wrong, faster is better. this is why im thinking about this. i would likt go faster and look neet. i am in the process of building the transom up for a larger motor right now. i was just wondering if there would be room. the fabrication of the mounts and rigging wouldnt be a problem for me.

also, how would the boat handle with both of the props rotating the same?

Either both in or both out.It will look cool though. There should be room to fit two on that transom if you run the close and with a tie bar for the steering. :)

really, unless you put bigger props on it, its not going to be any faster. It will accelerate twice as hard tho. It would be do-able because of how narrow those I-6 motors are...

I have a similar Checkmate with a 2.5 V-6 and when I stop
fast I almost get swamped over by the water rushing in the
back... an' thats with 1 O/B! It'll never float!
