Hey guys, I was told when adding velocity stacks on my stock 200 2.5 merc that I should go up two jet sizes. I pulled my stock jet and it is .068, so does that mean two sizes up would be .070 or .088 and do I have to change one jet on each side of each carb totaling six jets. Thanks
Two sizes bigger is 72. If you are not removing an air box and installing the stacks the bigger jets are not necessary.

He is removing the air box and has the can removed from the mid section.Stack's alone dont meen you need to rejet but when the can is removed and holes drilled, shouldnt he rejet at that point????I removed the box on that motor with the can removed and holes drilled and the motor leaned and burnt a piston. All six plugs and piston tops where ash white. What do you think ?THANX,Rob
Yes he should rejet if removing the air box and rejet even bigger if removing the can.

I removed the can and airbox and my plugs always look dark , also have 33cc heads. (2.4 175) Am i looking for trouble by not jetting up? Thanks, Gary

You can not go by the plugs if you are running the stock center fire plugs. You must read the pistons.
