....but if the price is right, and the individual vehicle is in pretty good shape, I've seen a few of them with nearly 200K on them.

As much as I'm a VW guy, you can't beat the reliability of a Toyota, or other Japanese cars.
9 times out of 10 you get in turn the key, and don't worry about it.
When they do break. Parts are inexpensive, and very simple for the do it yourselfer.
My VR6 Jetta loves to be fed money on a regular basis for parts. But still worth it for me. (it's pretty, and really flies)
Honda Civic's are another similar car in my opinion.
As long as the prior owner hasn't "riced it up" for "performance", they can also be very reliable, and inexpensive to insure, and operate.
Just my two cents,
Good luck with your purchase.

91,000 miles on a Toyota, I'd be more worried about a 747 falling on my head... I probably be concerned about the reliability if the oil had NEVER been changed or it has been run for the last 40,000 miles without a radiator...

I had a '87 Tercel, ran it for 326,000 miles till it finally puked a rod out the side. My cousin borrowed it and NEVER checked the oil. He was driving on I-40 @ 70 mph when it croaked. I sold a guy at work the four new tire for $100.00 and he got a free car

Looked at the Tercel today no rust one small dent about the size of a dime on the hood everything works the only thing I found wrong was the passenger side seat belt is broke and there seems to be alot of rust on part of the valve cover any idea what this might be from? There asking $1,500.00

don't know anything about the tercel, but I drive a toyota product, have 125k miles on it and have only put oil and gas in it since I got it. not a rattle, noise, smell, drip, or puff of smoke. Brother in law has a toyota land cruiser with over 200k miles and it is starting to burn a little more oil, but nothing else wrong yet. Not speaking bad about any other makers, but cannot say enough good about the two toyota related vehicles I know something about.

The difference is that Toyota is actually concerned about long-term vehicle quality and it's paying customers...

91K?? I wouldn't be even slightly concerned about that.. One thing you might want to consider though.. If it hasn't had one, it's gonna need a timing belt -- soon.. You might want to factor that into your price. If you pay somebody, it's about $250 - $300 -- about $60 DIY..
