2.4 bp carb motors, don't know the years though. what's a "vp"? Would you mean a ModVp? Also, Are you reffering to the old EFI with the low snout on the intake? Like a laser EFI.

here is what i've been told.. all bridge port Motors have horn style efi... mY motor has a bridge in the exhaust .. BUT has the old stle efi with the ecu mounted on the front of the plentum.. the throttle plate is on the bottom of the plentum....yes i ment mod vp.. I have never seen one So i have no idea on what a mod vp is........ i got this motor in a deal.& it needs to be redone. & know one seems to know what it is.. original owner had it since new so i doubt i was pieced together.... I have seen a Z port motor with this style efi.. ruck said they made those with both style efi's I'll post some picks thanks

Mercury did make a Mod-VP Bridgeport carb motor. They made Bridgeports with both chrome and nikasil cylinders. The Z-port motors were not factory mercury. They were sleeved with a special sleeve that is no longer made. They were done by a machine shop, not Mercury. Your engine appears to be sleeved with a Bridgeport replacement sleeve. You can see where the head gasket seals, the difference in the sleeve and the block. You can also see around the exhaust port where the sleeve doesn't blend in with the aluminum block.

See if a magnet will stick to the cylinder wall. I have a couple of those cowlings for that engine if you know anyone needing one. $75.00 each, plus shipping.
