Since the show airs on Tuesday night I can finally talk about it. We got to go to Las Vegas to be part of Overhaulin as A-Team builders on a build last month. The car we built was a 70 Mustang dubbed "The Gambler". I was kinda concerned about building a car in a week, and YES they actually build it in a week. I don't think I've ever worked that long or hard in my life, but it was , with out a doubt, the most fun I've had working on a car. IF you get a chance check it out. We built it in front of an audiance for the whole week at the SEMA show.
:D
Here's an article about the whole experience:

Its nice to finally see a decent car show that focuses on the cars more the "Tv Drama". Foose looks like a stand up guy who actually cars about what he does. To get it done on time does he have a lot more people working on the car then it looks?

Chip Foose is a really nice guy, and real easy to work with! There are more people then you see on the show, but not a ton of people. We worked a bunch of hours each day, anywhere from 15 to 20 hours. In hindsight I probably should have slept more during the off-time, but we were in Vegas, so I had to gamble and "let loose" some. After the car came back from paint we worked about 32 hours straight to complete it. I agree, it's about time that a car show focuses on the cars and not the "drama". Bud, the executive producer is a really good guy also. When we first got involved with them during the Power Tour episode of Rides we spent a lot of time hanging out and talking about the shows and the way he focuses less on the drama. The like to see the problems we face during a build and how we work through them. We are also finishing up an episode of Rides with them right now. We have to have the car finished on the 20th of this month, that's why I'm here at 8:30 on a Saturday. I'm fabricating the complete exhaust, cut and welded out of 304 stainless. I love my job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The power tour "rides" was very cool. I like to see how everyone helps out a guy who's busted (kinda like here). I would love to be involved in that stuff!!! I haven't even put my 3" exhaust on my Talon b/c I'm missing a 15" piece of pipe...I love to be able to go to the shelf and weld myself something up!!!!

Did you see the part when the guys transission broke, I was the one that described what happened to it. Then they showed us again when we were installing the transmission in the car. I guess that was my fifteen minutes of fame! What kind of pipe do you need?

I did see that!! You're famous lol. That was awesome..I was truely amazed that they (you) fixed the car. I thought going back and picking him up was the end of the help.
My pipe needs are more complicated then I can properly describe...it's 3" with some slight bends lol.

I guess I don't stand a chance to get them to do my brothers 70 Stang now.

Jeff, I caught the last half of that last night. From what I saw it was the best segment of Overhaulin so far. If you've got any idea of when it's gonna run again I'd like to watch it.

Raceman, I'm not sure when it'll air again, someone told me tonight (THURS.) but I'm not sure. I can't believe they called me "Gorgeuos Georges" and it made it to air.

I do not mean to take anything away from anyone but I was in paint and body for 17 years and there is no way it can be done in 7 days except for alot of people behind the scenes--it takes hundreds of hours just for body work and paint not counting frame, engine , etc............

...just out of curiousity are the owners of the cars ever given a breakdown of how much money was invested into their cars/ trucks when all is said and done??? Recruiting that type of talent (Foose, Trepanier, etc...), the labor/ parts, and custom work, I would have to imagine it would be between $75- 100K. Any thoughts????

We had quite a few people behind the scenes helping to get it done, but we did build it seven days. I personally worked about 20 hours a day for the whole week. The body guys work along side of us, and we are trying to work together, it's not always easy. I was part of the sheet metal and body mods mainly, but I also ran the fuel lines, pump and filter. The only way to make it work is to have a good team that works well together. We had like 5-7 people doing the body work!
