I just picked my 03 rev 600 and pulled the ultra and xc700 out of storage Sunday. I spent last year in the hospital so I'm definitely ready. Later, Dave

I see. Thats a sweet sled. I'm trying a Ski-Doo for the first time. I bought it used and now I'm told to already take it to a dealer to have them check if it was ever recalled for pistons. I glad its still under warranty but it still pisses me off. I have never had any trouble with my polaris's. Well, Yammers given me enough grief about the Ski-Doo purchase. I'm planning on coming up there at least once this year for a sled trip. Maybe will meet up. Later, Dave

I am not really brand loyal on the sleds, although I have not really ever been a fan of Yamaha. The new (05 ) RX-1 might convert me.
I like the Firecats, and the Revs. I have a friend that is a big doo guy, a dealer, and he puts new pistons in his every year. His brother rode 9500 miles last year....... and 10500 the year before. This pistons had cracks in the skirts. But he also has never broke down.
Doo seems pretty reliable, Yamaha is unbreakable, the firecats had some teathing problems that seem to be sorted out, and then polaris seems pretty tough also.
I got a good deal on this sled, and had an 01 800 XC ( a turd of a sled ) that I could not sell so I traded it in. I would have bought an Rev SDI otherwise.
Come on up..... we have 30 000 miles of trails in the province...all groomed!.

I posted on another thread that i would never buy a new sled again. Well, never say never. Inlinesix you right, the season is too short and the sleds are too expensive so I buy used. But even buying used, its kinda rediculous. For the amount of the sled, insurance, trailer, and travel its probably on of the dumbest things we could do....But its still pretty fricken fun. Well...this thing started out as a 2001 440 SnoPro, then was turned into a open mod snowcrosser. After I bought it I dropped and rolled the chain case, extended the tunnel and installed a 144" track with 2" lugs. It has a Black Magic 711cc EFI big bore kit with power valves on a ported 600 crank case, twin pipes, V-Force II reeds and a BOSS seat. It's a blast to ride! The light weight of a 440 and the power of a 800!

Cool sled Q-shot, I have a buddie that has a 03 Factory sno-cross racer with a speed works 800, titanium EVERYTHING. He went the other way with his and turned into a drag racer. But from the factory with nothing but a gear change it went 135 mph on 1750 feet!.
Damn awsome sleds those open mod sno pros!

Your 1st seld and it''s a Rev? I'm jealous...you'll love the way they ride...and the 500 is a great deal...almost the same power as the 600.
good choice.

It's supposed to be 597cc. at about 105 hp.
I went with the "rev" because of the 1+1 capability. We bought the second removable seat for the days the wife wants to go.
I'll pay hell with the rest of the guys up here, they all have cats.
can't wait for snow!!!
