Is there a site that shows locations of gas stations and restaurants on lakes. Like a map with these pointed out all over it?
I am especially looking for the trent system maps. I want to see if I can travel from rice to fenelon falls by boat. has anyone done it, and how long did it take?

Hey Phish! not sure of any websites that provide this info, but I have seen Trent Waterway maps at marinas....try some of the government sites as they run the locks. Also Toronto Int. Boat Show is in January you might have luck there.

Good luck.

there is a crude map here:

You can go anywhere on the Trent system if you have the time. The big time sinks are the 12 km/hr stretches and the areas with mulitple locks. There are enough marinas that you won't run out of gas.

Lake Simcoe can be a barrier to the small boat crowd.

Our cottage is on Cooch. This past summer we did two Trent cruises. We towed our Voo Doo to Sparrow Lake and bypassed the 12 kph from Cooch to Sparrow Lake. Then we went up almost to Port Severn. Our other trip was in the stretch between lock 37 and Kirkfield.

In Sept I had a ride in a J Craft at 40-50 mph through some of the 12 kph zones. It was a lot more fun than putting along in my Voo Doo off a plane.

Even though it wouldn't be the usual speed fest a PBCC Trent cruise would be pretty cool.

Phish stop by on Balsam lake and say hi;) Its inbetween Cameron Lake (Fenelon Falls) and Canal Lake. Another thing about going to Simcoe is that you go 12 kph through FARM fields, nothing to see. Usually when we hit those areas, me and my friend keep it at wot as long as noones comming. There such a pita

Thanks everyone. I am going to have to look a little further into it.
There are 14 locks in between the places I want to go. I will have to find some more details.

Or.... you could just hang out on Rice Lake. People gather at Whites Island sandbar, or the third bay (north shore) beaches most every weekend. Lots of fun and BS.

I think we ski out of there.

That's third bay beach, which is one bay west of Birdsall Beach Trailer resort. Near the far east end of Rice Lake.

Up by the Wilson's, close to the Government dock?

No, along the marsh side docks, at the very far end. It's a 33' Mallard, sign out front says "The Laceys". My '85 red V-King is always parked at my dock right in front.

You're in for a great trip, it takes the best part of a day to go from Lakefield to Fenelon, havn't been from there south so not sure how long it takes from that point, but take your time and enjoy. Lovesick, Stoney, Bobcaygeon all beautiful spots. Get proper charts so your not guessing, some tricky spots through Stoney, Take a detour and visit Scugog, Dreamer and I will show you around the Bog...cold beer...hhmmmm :D

I have done the Trent severn water top to bottom a few times. The stretch from Peterborough north sucks. Lots of slow rides between too many dam locks. You get stuck waiting for locks because if there is traffic coming the other way from the lock above, you wait untill they get to the lock and lock down. We have been stuck in the middle of nowhere for almost an hour just to go thru one lock. The ride in the lift lock probably makes the trip worth while though.
